Intro

I love learning and trying new things.  Being creative is not a choice for me.

I realize now I've always been a creative person.  I graduated from college with an accounting degree and got a job in government accounting, later finishing my MBA.  Back then, computers were not as much of a things as they are now, but I figured out how to utilize them for my job.  I always found better ways to do things at work by trying to think outside the box.  In the end, my career moved from accounting to more of a business analyst position/software engineering lite.

For my personal life, when my kids were young, I did a lot of sewing.  I can make anything from a picture, even without a pattern.  I designed and made so many outfits for them.  Over the years, I've also made a few wedding dresses and many baptismal gowns.

It wasn't until after my kids all graduated from high school that I really leaned into my creativity.  We had purchased land to build a cabin, and I wanted to learn to make stick furniture, so I did. That lead to learning to carve and burn wood.

During covid - I continued to explore and learned to paint, first with acrylics and later with water color.  I've also tried my hand at quilting and have now made 6 quilts, most with matching pillow shams.  All were patterns I created.  Now I'm working on making some picture type wall runners and wall hangings.  As I work out my method for that - you will see some of those.

Cooking is also a passion and considered one of my creative endeavors as well.

Welcome to my blog and I hope you enjoy seeing all the different things I explore as I follow my artistic heart!
